Covid Explained, BBC News, Asian Network, BBC Local Radio


During the pandemic Ramaa pitched and         delivered an award winning language service. Her team produced covid information in 5 South Asian Languages. The video content appeared on the BBC News Website and the audio was distributed across local and community stations across the UK. The service won a Bronze Gillard Award.

Alcohol Abuse Investigation - BBC News, Asian Network & Victoria Derbyshire show


In 2018 Ramaa was the commissioner and executive producer of an investigation into alcohol abuse in UK based Panjabi Communities. The investigation had a powerful impact on the community,  attracted 1.5 million visitors on the BBC’s  website and went viral on social media.

CDX: Brown Girls on the Rise - BBC 


For the CDX festival - a new online festival for the BBC Ramaa moderates a discussion on subjects such as cultural conflicts and interracial marriage in South Asian Communities.

100 Women - BBC News & BBC World Service


In 2015-16 Ramaa was the Social Media Editor for the World Service. She produced a number of social media strategies for emerging markets during this time. Ramaa also led the award winning social media campaign for the 100 Women project.  This campaign won a prestigious Gracie Award in 2016.

Digital Indians - BBC News & BBC Hindi



In 2013 Ramaa worked in India for a year appointed as the Delhi Bureau's first Digital Editor. She commissioned a number of important stories in her time - the year of the Delhi Gang rape case. She also edited a special series on "Digital Indians” showcasing some of the most successful digital pioneers of Indian orgin.  Find Out More Here
