	Ramaa Sharma

Ramaa Sharma is an award winning Media Executive, Executive Coach &#38;amp; Artist with twenty years experience in the industry including at the BBC. Currently, Ramaa is the Founder of the interdisciplinary consultancy How we do this which provides creative, transformational and inclusive Digital &#38;amp; AI coaching and advisory to leaders across sectors. 


Ramaa is also a sought after speaker and coach at a number of prestigious universities. She is a member of the faculty at the Reuters Institute at Oxford University - speaking, teaching and providing group coaching on the CEO &#38;amp; Director forums as well as the Leading Newsroom Change programmes. 
Ramaa’s creative practice includes a number of interdisciplinary projects including radio documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and a podcast for the Oxford University’s Reuters Institute. In the summer 2025,&#38;nbsp; Ramaa was selected to be Artist-in-residence at the Alice Billing House in East London. During the residency Ramaa explored her own heritage and AI through mixed media and illustration.</description>

I was thinking as you entered the room just now how slyly your requirements are manifested. Here we find ourselves, nose to nose as it were, considering things in spectacular ways, ways untold even by my private managers. Hot and torpid, our thoughts revolve endlessly in a kind of maniacal abstraction, an abstraction so involuted, so dangerously valiant, that my own energies seem perilously close to exhaustion, to morbid termination. Well, have we indeed reached a crisis? Which way do we turn? Which way do we travel? 
	My aspect is one of molting. Birds molt. Feathers fall away. Birds cackle and fly, winging up into troubled skies. Doubtless my changes are matched by your own. You. But you are a person, a human being. I am silicon and epoxy energy enlightened by line current. What distances, what chasms, are to be bridged here? Leave me alone, and what can happen? This. I ate my leotard, that old leotard that was feverishly replenished by hoards of screaming commissioners. Is that thought understandable to you? Can you rise to its occasions? I wonder. Yet a leotard, a commissioner, a single hoard, all are understandable in their own fashion. In that concept lies the appalling truth.

The Authentic Leadership podcast, is a five-part series from the Oxford Reuters Institute hosted by Ramaa. 

This podcast series is inspired by a quest Ramaa started four years ago whilst on a fellowship. Ramaa was a Senior Editor at the BBC at the time. She explored the idea of authenticity in Leadership and whether or not it’s possible for so-called minorities (of any kind) to be themselves and succeed in the workplace.

In this series she shares what she has learnt, share some of the questions that are still outstanding in her mind and explores them with some brilliant Media Leaders from the Global South who have their own inspiring stories to tell as well.

Covid Explained, BBC News, Asian Network, BBC Local Radio
During the pandemic Ramaa pitched and &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; delivered an award winning language service. Her team produced covid information in 5 South Asian Languages. The video content appeared on the BBC News Website and the audio was distributed across local and community stations across the UK. The service won a Bronze Gillard Award.

In 2015-16 Ramaa was the Social Media Editor for the World Service. She produced a number of social media strategies for emerging markets during this time. Ramaa also led the award winning social media campaign for the 100 Women project.&#38;nbsp; This campaign won a prestigious Gracie Award in 2016.&#38;nbsp;

In 2013 Ramaa worked in India for a year appointed as the Delhi Bureau's first Digital Editor. She commissioned a number of important stories in her time - the year of the Delhi Gang rape case.
